Recently, the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge visitors center has once again opened its doors to the general public, but on a very limited basis due to the ongoing coronavirus epidemic.
Closed since March of 2020, the Bear River Bird Refuge visitors center hours are currently limited to Tuesday through Friday 8:00 am to 12:30 pm and Saturday 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Despite the visitors center being open, all of the inside displays, rooms, and functions are still closed to the general public, except for the Avocet Corner Book Store which is independently operated by Friends of the Bear River Refuge and usually open during the same hours the visitors center is open.
The refuge auto tour route, Wetlands Wonder, and Marsh Meander nature trails are open daily to the public from sunrise to sunset.
Visitors entering the refuge facility must wear a mask in accordance with federal guidelines regardless of their vaccination status.
It’s not sure when normal hours and full functions will be restored to the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge visitors center, but for now, there is at least some offering to the public, albeit very limited for the time being.
For more information or any changes to their current status, it is advised to contact the Bear River Bird Refuge directly.
