2018 Swan Day And Photography Workshop

tundra swan on the bear river migratory bird refuge

It’s one of my favorite days of the year again. It’s time to visit the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge to see and hear the migrating tundra swans. It’s also time for another one of my annual photography workshops.

Each spring thousands of migrating tundra swans stop on the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge to rest and feed for their long journey northward to the arctic tundra. The refuge self guided auto tour route offers an excellent opportunity for bird watchers to come see and hear these magnificent birds during their short stay on the bear river marsh.

For me, March is all about the tundra swans. I spend a lot of time watching and photographing the swans each spring on the refuge. I also teach a free basic outdoor photography workshop at the refuge education center on swan day for anybody wanting to get started in outdoor photography.

Come and visit the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge for swan day and take part in the activities provided. Below I posted a couple of 360 virtual tour images of the newly constructed observation tower on the refuge. It will help give refuge visitor a birds eye view of this amazing place. I have also included below a 360 image of the auto tour route to give readers an idea of what the self guided tour looks like.

Come see the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge from a new vantage point on swan day, the newly constructed wildlife observation tower. It offers a great view of the adjacent marsh and the wetland habitat the refuge protects for resident and migrating birds.

The Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge self guided auto tour route is a 12 mile gravel road which travels through the heart of the refuge, giving visitors a great view of the refuge and its wildlife.
