My love for birds goes back several decades, to my childhood, in fact, when I was introduced to birdwatching on a father-son trip to Farmington Bay Wildlife Management Area in northern Utah.
From that very day, I was hooked on birding, and ever since then, birds have been my passion.
It’s what started this website in 2017 and what keeps it going to this very day.
As such, I am implementing a simple program to give back to the hobby I have loved for decades, one that will help birds and eventually other creatures in nature as the program gets off the ground and starts to grow and expand.
Simply put, I am donating a portion of my t-shirt and hoodie sales to help wild birds in any way that I can.
For my first project, I have contacted a farmer with an old, abandoned concrete grain silo that has a pair of barn owls roosting in it, but the silo is without any kind of nesting structure, so I have gotten permission from the landowner to install a nesting box for the barn owls once I get the funding.
This is where you can help by purchasing apparel items from our website and helping fund projects like this, which will directly help wild birds.
Once enough funds are obtained for any particular project, a blog post about its completion will be posted on this website.
There are a couple of other projects I have in mind that would provide nesting structures for American kestrels, a peregrine falcon, and burrowing owls, and I will post more about those in the future as they develop.
